Edinboro University wheelchair basketball head coach Jim Glatch has announced that Team USA will be practicing at McComb Fieldhouse on Friday, August 3 through Sunday, August 5 in preparation for the upcoming Paralympics in London, England. Glatch serves as the head coach of Team USA. Former Edinboro All-American Trevon Jenifer (below) is a member of Team USA.
The 2012 Paralympics are scheduled to begin on August 29 and run through September 9 in London. The wheelchair basketball competition gets underway on August 30 with Team USA facing Turkey in a Group A preliminary game.
Team USA will practice on Friday morning from 7:30 to 10 am, followed with another practice from 12:30 to 3 p.m. On Saturday Glatch will put Team USA through drills from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. and 12:30 to 2:30 p.m., followed by an inter-squad game from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. that night. The public is invited to attend the inter-squad game.
Team USA will wrap up its training session in Edinboro on Sunday with a workout from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m.
Glatch notes that this weekend’s training session is the next to last before heading to London on August 25. The team has gone through competitions this summer in Europe and Canada.
